Pedakallepalli is a well-known shiva kshetram also know as Dajshna Kasi with its many similarities with Kasi/Varanasi Kshetram. located near Mopidevi, Diviseema Taluk, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. It has thousands of years history and also known as Naga Kshetram, Rushi Kshetram, and Satya Kshetram

The main deity, Sri Durga Nageswara Swami is believed to be ‘Swambhulingam’ (appeared on its own) and appears in the shape of snake head, worshipped with a very high respect and honour. Here the Swami gives darshan along with his consort  Goddesses Parvathi and Vana Durga – one of Nava Durgas.

Both the Parvati and Vana Durga statues are very beautiful and darshan of these Shaktimatas’ will erase all papa karmas.

Pedakallepalli also referred as Dakshna Kasi, (Kasi of South) Like River Ganga in Varanasi, here river Krishna also flows in north direction (Uttara Vahini) to meet with the sea Bay of Bengal.

It is believed that those who take bath in the river Krishna and perform puja for Sri Durga Nageswara Swami will get Mukti – i.e., no rebirth.

The temple was renovated in the year 1782 by Challapalli Raja, Sri Yarlgadda Kondanda Ramana. The Raja-gopuram built in the year 1796.

Pedakallepalli is very serene and picturesque and must visit for its beauty and sacredness.

How to reach

Pedakallepalli is about 32 km from the district headquarters, Machilipatnam, and of 67 Km from Vijayawada.

By Rail

The nearest railway stations are Machilipatnam and Vijayawada. From there one can reach by AP state RTC buses or private vehicles.

Edakallepalli has bus services from nearest Challapalli, Mopidevi APSRTC bus stations and from other major cities also.
