Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy is situated near to Singarakonda Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple in Addanki Mandal, Prakasam district. The temple is 42 km from Ongole and 5.5 km from Addanki. Sri Hanuman is the presiding deity in this temple. Here Sri Prasanna Aanjaneya Swamy idol is facing south which is very rare for devotees. There are 2 stories about the temple. One is Anjaneya Swamy stayed for a day at this place when he traveled to Srilanka in search Mata Sita Devi. The second is At the end of the 17th century at the time of Dwaja Stambham inauguration in Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple a Yogi installed Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy idol at Bhavanasi tank at the foot of Singarakonda hill and disappeared. From that time the villagers started praying Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy at Singarakonda.

Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy Temple Singarayakonda located at the foot of the hills. It is believed that Sage Narada performed penance for Lord Narasimha Swamy and Lord appeared before him in Varaha Narasimha Avatar (Incarnation of Lord Vishnu).  Singarayakonda Narasimha Swamy temple flourished during the time of Vijayanagara Kings in 15th Century.

Singarakonda Hanuman Temple History:

About 210 years ago (late 17th century), during the inauguration of Dwaja Stambham in the premises of the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple, thousands of devotees saw a yogi installing the idol of Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy in the Bhavanasi tank under the hill. Devotees began to pray to Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy in Singarakonda.

At the end of the 17th century which is 210 years from now, During the installation of  Flag Post (Dwajasthambham) at Narasimha Swamy Temple in the uphill. a saint installed Prasanna Anjaneya Idol at the foot of the hills, which is next to Bhavanasi Temple Tank and disappeared after installation. Thousands of devotees who gathered for the Flag post-installation witnessed the miracle.

There is another folklore circulating about this temple, that Hanuman in search of Goddess Sita stayed on this hill for a day. Idol is facing south direction.

Hanuman Jayanthi will be celebrated in a grand and temple will be heavily crowded on this day. Thousands of devotees from nearby places used to visit this Temple on this holy day and performs Bhajans.
